1. What is Incontro Romano?
Incontro Romano is an international forum directed to students in order to deepen their understanding of current trends. This will then lead to the discovery of woman's fundamental role in the professions of direct attention towards the person, as well as to promote their importance.
The project culminates in an annual congress that takes place in Rome, where the participants show how -through diverse initiatives- they have tried to express that year's topic in their countries. In this way the importance these professions have in society is discovered while at the same valuing the diverse traditions and cultures that exist.
2. Who is it targeted at?
It is aimed at young women, students and professionals, in the service industry and other sectors that focus on the person.
3. Who is behind this initiative?
The Associazione Centro ELIS, -a non governmental organization, that was recognised by the Italian government in 1965 and which promotes social and educative projects in Italy and other countries- adopted this initiative from the beginning. It gave the Incontro Romano a legal framework and helped it find economical means.
The Opus Dei Prelature is responsible for the doctrinal and spiritual direction of this initiative.
4. What is its purpose?
The purpose of Incontro Romano is to deepen the understanding of current topics which lead to the discovery of woman's fundamental role in the professions which focus on the person. It also dedicated to discovering the centrality these professions have in society and to prizing their own traditions and cultures.
5. Which activities does it develop?
The Incontro Romano forum culminates with the international Congress in Rome, but each country has its own initiatives through which they develop each year's topic.
